Georgia state senator Colton Moore (R) is calling for an emergency session to investigate Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
Earlier this week, a grand jury in Fulton County, Georgia indicted former President Donald Trump on 13 counts following an investigation into alleged efforts to “overturn” the 2020 presidential election.
“As a Georgia State Senator, I am officially calling for an emergency session to review the actions of Fani Willis,” Moore (R) wrote on Twitter/X.
“America is under attack. I’m not going to sit back and watch as radical left prosecutors politically TARGET political opponents,” he added.
Included in the tweet is a copy of a letter to Georgia Governor Brian Kemp demanding he call a special session to address “the actions of Fani Willis.”
Moore also posted a petition declaring, “We must strip all funding and, if appropriate, impeach Fani Willis.”

Move To Impeach Fani Willis
While we applaud the move by Moore to investigate the office of Fulton County DA Willis, to strip funding from her office, and possibly impeach her, it is, as with most Republican moves, not likely to go anywhere.
It should be noted that while the letter to Kemp references “we, the undersigned” and points to 3/5 of the state assembly, it concludes with only one signature.
I launched the process to investigate Fani Willis for targeting Donald Trump.
No more empty promises.
No more talking in circles.
The time for action is NOW!
We must defund her office… and if appropriate… IMPEACH.

Additionally, Republicans fall just short of the 3/5 majority threshold in the Georgia state House (they have 57%), and likewise in the state Senate (59%). Unless there are Democrats willing to join his call, the emergency session would have to be summoned by Kemp.
Kemp, however, has sided with Willis’ attempts to indict the leading Republican contender for the nomination for President.
“The 2020 election in Georgia was not stolen,” Kemp posted on X. “For nearly three years now, anyone with evidence of fraud has failed to come forward — under oath — and prove anything in a court of law.”

For nearly three years now, anyone with evidence of fraud has failed to come forward – under oath – and prove anything in a court of law. Our elections in Georgia are secure, accessible, and fair and will continue to be as long as I… pic.twitter.com/jaru2iBDo7

Newt Gingrich Agrees
Earlier this week, the former House Speaker Newt Gingrich voiced support for having Willis removed from her position or possibly impeached.
Gingrich called the Georgia indictment an “absurdity” and said if the state had any self-respect they would get Willis “out of office.”
Newt Gingrich: Trump Will Get Nomination by a ‘Landslide’
“… let’s be clear what’s going on. The left is afraid of Donald Trump. He is the one outsider who has shaken their whole system. And they’re willing to destroy the law in order to destroy Trump.”@newtgingrich pic.twitter.com/rVPzyqZjaR

Critics of the Fani Willis indictment contend that her motives are political in nature, both to the benefit of President Biden and her personally.
Willis launched her own 2023 re-election campaign website and sent out fundraising emails to supporters just days prior to the announcement of Trump’s indictment.
Willis has also requested that a judge set a trial date for March 4th, 2023. Super Tuesday, when over a dozen states, including California and Texas, hold their primaries, is March 5th.
Fulton County DA Fani Willis wants March 4th as the court date to begin her communist style persecution of President Trump for simply saying his election was stolen.
That is the day BEFORE Super Tuesday!!
They want to silence President Trump so he can’t campaign and they are…

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney has said the grand jury investigation was controlled mostly by Willis and her team and amounted to “a one-sided exploration.”
Trump said that he will present “irrefutable” evidence that will lead to his “complete exoneration” following the Georgia grand jury indictment.
