Over the summer, the conservative country music star Jason Aldean received quite a lot of backlash from the left for his hit anti-woke anthem “Try That In A Small Town.” Now, Aldean is firing back at these liberal haters to defend his song in a big way.

Aldean Defends ‘Try That In A Small Town’
While appearing on the “Coop’s Rockin’ Country Saturday Night” podcast, Aldean addressed the backlash that “Try That In A Small Town” has received, explaining that the “mainstream media” was against the song from the beginning.
“They start making the song and the video into something that it’s not and it’s fine,” said Aldean, 46. “We live in a world that does that right now.”
This comes after leftists outrageously claimed that “Try That In A Small Town” is a “pro-lynching” song, taking issue with the fact that its music video dares to depict the violence and chaos of the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020.
“If you’ve got common sense, you can look at the video, see that, you know, I’m not saying anything that’s not true in the video, I’m showing you what happened,” Aldean said in his latest interview. “I didn’t do it, you know, I didn’t create it. It happened and I saw it so and I’m not cool with it.”
“I don’t care which side of the political fence you want to stand on, but to me, what I was seeing was wrong, and nobody would say anything, especially in the music industry or entertainment industry,” Aldean explained. “It’s very uncommon for someone to say something for fear of losing a job or losing some money… losing friends or whatever. It just kind of reaches a breaking point to where you’re like, ‘Somebody needs to say something, and if nobody’s gonna do it, then I’ll be the guy.’”
“In this day and age, man, every time you do something the public or the media doesn’t agree with, or one certain side of the public doesn’t agree with, they want to cancel everybody,” he concluded. “‘You offended somebody.’ Well, you can’t do anything these days without offending somebody. That’s just the way it is.”

Aldean’s Previous Defense Of ‘Try That In A Small Town’
Despite liberals’ attempts to cancel “Try That In A Small Town,” the song immediately went viral and eventually hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. During a concert back in July, Aldean addressed both the success of the song and the backlash that it received.
“I’ve seen a lot of stuff suggesting I’m this, suggesting I’m that,” Aldean said at the time, according to CBS News. “Hey, here’s the thing, here’s the thing: here’s one thing I feel. I feel like everybody’s entitled to their opinion.”
“You can think, you can think something all you want to, it doesn’t mean it’s true, right?” he added. “So what I am is a proud American, proud to be from here.”

Aldean Loves America
Aldean went on to say that he loves America and wants to see the country “restored to what it once was before all this bulls**t started happening to us.”
“I know a lot of you guys grew up like I did,” Aldean told his fans. “You kind of have the same values, the same principles that I have, which is we want to take our kids to a movie and not worry about some a**hole coming in there shooting up the theater. So somebody asked me, ‘Hey man, you think you’re going to play this song tonight?’ The answer was simple. The people have spoken and you guys spoke very, very loudly this week.”

The success of “Try That In A Small Town” just goes to show that while liberal voices are sometimes the loudest, there’s a silent majority in this country that has had enough of the woke nonsense. God bless Aldean for continuing to fight back against his liberal haters, and we hope he creates more anti-woke music in the future!
