The lifestyle guru Martha Stewart is speaking out to issue a warning to America, as she feels that the country is about to “go down the drain” in a big way.

Stewart’s Warning To America
Stewart, 81, lamented to Footwear News that she has a big problem with an increasing number of Americans who do not want to work in the office five days a week.
“You can’t possibly get everything done working three days a week in the office and two days remotely,” she explained, going on to compare the productivity level of the U.S. to France.
“Look at the success of France with their stupid … you know, off for August, blah blah blah,” she said. “That’s not a very thriving country. Should America go down the drain because people don’t want to go back to work?”
“Should America go down the drain because people don’t want to go back to work?” Stewart questioned, adding that she is on a “rampage” to convince people to go back to the office and work in person.
Stewart didn’t even let the COVID-19 pandemic stop her from continuing to work extremely hard.
“I continued to work five days a week,” she said.
This comes after Kastle Systems found that the average office occupancy in the U.S. currently sits at about 48% of pre-pandemic levels.

Stewart Sees ‘No Reason To Retire’
Last month, Stewart told People Magazine that there is “no relaxing really going on” in her life at the moment.
“There’s no reason to retire,” she continued. “I can write sitting down, I can dictate lying down if I have to. I can do any number of things in different places in different ways.”
“That’s not what my life is about,” she added, referring to the idea of taking time off. “My life is about doing things and learning things and teaching things.”
When Stewart isn’t actively working, she enjoys spending her free time outside, where she says that she keeps herself busy “planning the next garden, weeding the borders, [and] running to find some more trees for another project.”

Stewart Makes History
Also last month, Stewart made history as the oldest woman to ever pose on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.
“When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, ‘Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person I think ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated,’” Stewart told the publication. “And I don’t think about age very much, but I thought that this is kind of historic.”
“That was kind of a request that I’ve never had before,” she later added to Variety. “To be on the cover at my age was a challenge. And I think I met the challenge.”

Stewart has previously said that she is proud to be a sex symbol at her age.
“It’s a good example for others, actually,” Stewart recently told InStyle of her sex symbol status. “I’m a teacher. I’m trying to teach others that you can look great. There’s no reason to slump around.”
Stewart is a truly incredible woman who has a work ethic that we can all learn a lot from. In the end, Americans would do well to heed her warning about working in person, because she’s someone who definitely knows what she’s talking about!
