The country music star Miranda Lambert paused a concert in Las Vegas on Saturday night to scold some female fans who she caught trying to take selfies during her performance.
Lambert Scolds Fans
DEBATE: Miranda Lambert stopped her concert to scold to fans who were taking selfies while she sang. Were they wrong to take pictures instead of listening to the music? Or their right to enjoy the concert however they want since they paid for it? pic.twitter.com/cTE9VudGeD

A TikTok video that has since gone viral shows Lambert, 39, start to play her hit song “Tin Man” when she catches sight of the fans.
“I’m gonna stop right here for a second, I’m sorry,” Lambert told the audience. “These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song.”
“It’s pissing me off a little bit,” she continued. “Sorry, I don’t like it. At all. We’re here to hear some country music tonight. I’m singing some country damn music.”
Adela Calin has since spoken out to claim that she and a group of female friends were the fans that Lambert stopped her song to scold.
“She said these girls are more interested in taking selfies and then she said sit down,” Calin told ABC News. “I thought, I feel like I’m being back in school and me and my friends did something that annoyed the teacher and she scolded us so she told us to sit down.”
“Everybody was having such a great time,” she continued. “We would stand up at times and dance. It was great energy. But after that happened it was just, um, it was not the same.”
When contacted by ABC for comment, a representative for Lambert said that the star has “no statement to add.”

Viral Video Sparks Debate
The video has since sparked a heated debate online, with some taking the fans’ side over Lambert’s.
“Miranda didn’t even talk to our Vegas audience between songs hardly,” one social media user commented, according to People Magazine. “Always in a mood. Fans can enjoy however they want. They paid.”
Another user said that Lambert “could have finished her song and just said some blanket statement.”
“Who doesn’t take pictures at a concert??” questioned a third person.
Others, however, thought that Lambert was completely in the right.
“I would want someone to pay attention to me singing too if I was giving my all,” one social media user commented, according to GEO TV.
“Six women, taking multiple selfies, with flash, VIP section, backs to the stage,” tweeted John Katsilometes of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “I get her frustration. This is ridiculous.”

Lambert Demands ‘Respect’
A source close to Lambert explained to US Weekly that the singer’s actions here were more about respect than anything else.
“Miranda has been an entertainer for most of her life and feels like there is a level of respect that is expected when somebody is on stage,” the insider said. “She understands fans are there to have fun, but she hopes people focus more on the show and being in the moment than using the opportunity to promote social media.”
“Miranda is, and always has been, incredibly grateful for her fans and she feels blessed to have such dedicated followers,” this source continued.

Who do you think is in the right here? Does Lambert have a point in thinking that her fans should be living in the moment instead of taking selfies, or did they have every right to do that after paying for concert tickets?
