Mayor Eric Adams (D) called out the hypocrisy of the Black Lives Matter movement following a string of violence that erupted during the Juneteenth holiday in New York City.

Juneteenth was the deadliest day this year in the city that never sleeps. Shots rang out across the city with 10 firearm-related incidents and several people killed.

“Juneteenth was our celebration of emancipation and the end of slavery. That was one of the most deadly days in our city,” Adams lamented.

Among the victims was a 16-year-old boy who was shot at “close range” and killed in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn.

Adams Calls Out Black Lives Matter

Mayor Adams pointed out the missing outcry of sympathy for black lives from the anti-cop crowd.

“You know, we have to be honest about this. You know what’s interesting? All those anti-police folks didn’t raise their voice at all, Black Lives Matter,” he said.

“Black lives matter when innocent people are shot on our streets,” he added. “And I’m not going to continue to remain silent.”

Adams, to his credit, has been consistently calling out the hypocrisy.

At a flag-raising ceremony to honor Juneteenth last week, he demanded the city “never surrender to violence again” and called on citizens to “reflect” on the incidents.

He also hinted that the violence was a spree of black-on-black crime.

“On the day that we acknowledge our ancestors, it became one of the bloodiest days of violence in our city,” said Adams. “And the hands of those who inflicted that violence were those who we are raising this flag with.”

“We cannot believe that it’s all right to stamp out slavery, but be enslaved to violence in our city and in our country,” he added.

Black Lives Matter Promised ‘Bloodshed’

Last year, Adams took another jab at the Black Lives Matter movement following a similar day of violence throughout the city.

“Where are all those who stated ‘Black lives matter’?” Adams fumed. “Do an analysis of who was killed or shot last night. I was up all night speaking to my commanders in the Bronx, in Brooklyn. The victims were black.”

The mayor added that those protesting police violence need to be consistent in their support for victims of crime.

“The lives of these black children that are dying every night matter,” Adams said. “We can’t be hypocrites.”

Oh, but they can and they will.

Contrary to calling out the violence, a Black Lives Matter leader in the city promised to deliver “bloodshed” in 2021 instead.

In fact, that threat was directed specifically at Adams, a warning that he’d better not reactivate the NYPD’s anti-crime unit.

“There will be riots,” the BLM leader vowed, “there will be fires and there will be bloodshed.”

Where ARE the “defund the police” advocates from the Squad when violence erupts that affects the black community?

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has been virtually silent. Representative Cori Bush (D-MO) well, she used Juneteenth to call for a $14 trillion “starting point” toward reparations for slavery in America.

She also used it as an opportunity to call for an end to “police violence” and demanded “white supremacy” be taught in this country.

Bush made no mention of the violence that cast a pall over Juneteenth celebrations across the country – including St. Louis, which she represents.

The hypocrisy of the left never ceases to amaze.
