Conservative presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy responded to the Georgia indictments against former President Donald Trump by calling them out as “political persecutions.”
He also offered to author an amicus brief to provide the court information in defense of Trump over what he describes as a Constitutional violation of due process rights.
On Monday, a grand jury in Fulton County, Georgia indicted Trump following an investigation into alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
It is the fourth such indictment he has faced in recent months as supporters claim overzealous prosecutors have engaged in a flurry of election interference efforts on behalf of President Joe Biden.
“These are politicized persecutions through prosecution,” Ramaswamy said in a conversation with Leland Vittert during a NewsNation Town Hall.

Ramaswamy Offers To Write Amicus Brief To Defend Trump From Indictments
Ramaswamy took things a step further by offering both legal advice for Trump and the opportunity to write an amicus brief in his defense.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Ramaswamy noted that Fulton County publicly posted information about the indictment to its website before the grand jury had finished its work.
Critics have charged the error could have resulted in jury tampering.
According to Reuters, Fulton County posted charges to their docket BEFORE the grand jury had even finished
This means the grand jury has been completely tainted
How can they objectively vote on charges when they’ve already heard of the decision to charge?

“Here we go again: another disastrous Trump indictment. It’s downright pathetic that Fulton County publicly posted the indictment on its website even before the grand jury had finished convening,” Ramaswamy wrote on X.
The GOP presidential candidate noted that each of the indictments against Trump makes use of “novel [and] untested legal theories” and as a result, Trump should do the same.
“Immediately file a motion to dismiss for a constitutional due process violation for publicly issuing an indictment before the grand jury had actually signed one,” the biotech entrepreneur advised.
“As someone who’s running for President against Trump, I’d volunteer to write the amicus brief to the court myself,” added Ramaswamy. “Prosecutors should not be deciding U.S. presidential elections, and if they’re so overzealous that they commit constitutional violations, then the cases should be thrown out [and] they should be held accountable.”

Trump Fires Back After Indictment
A statement released by attorneys for the former President also tackles the fact that Fulton County publicly posted the indictments before the grand jury had concluded.
“The events that have unfolded today have been shocking and absurd, starting with the leak of a presumed and premature indictment before the witnesses had testified or the grand jurors had deliberated and ending with the District Attorney being unable to offer any explanation,” they wrote.
“This one-sided grand jury presentation relied on witnesses who harbor their own personal and political interests— some of whom ran campaigns touting their efforts against the accused and/or profited from book deals and employment opportunities as a result,” they continued.
Fanni Willis just posted the names of the grand jurors.
Earlier she posted the entire indictment before anyone even voted on it.
She’s not incompetent.
This is all purposeful.

Trump himself told Fox News that the fourth indictment against him marks a “dark period for our country.”
“Nineteen people were indicted, and the whole world is laughing at the United States as they see how corrupt and horrible a place it has turned out to be under the leadership of Crooked Joe Biden,” he said.
The top contender for the GOP nomination in 2024 also noted that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis dragged out the investigation and made her move in the heart of the next presidential campaign.
“This politically-inspired indictment, which could have been brought close to three years ago, was tailored for placement right smack in the middle of my political campaign, where I am leading all Republicans—by a lot—and beating Joe Biden soundly in almost all polls,” added Trump.
The Georgia indictments are so ridiculous, Fanni Willis actually thinks it’s a criminal conspiracy for Donald Trump to tell ppl to watch the news channel OAN.

Ramaswamy has been surging in the polls, with his vociferous defense of Trump being a significant reason why.
He has challenged every other presidential candidate to sign a pledge that they would right the wrong of “politicized persecutions” and pardon Trump.
“It would be a lot easier for me if Donald Trump were not in this primary, but that is not how I want to win this election,” Ramaswamy said.
In the end, Ramaswamy’s defenses of Trump say a lot about his character.
Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.
