‘L.A. Ink’s’ Kat Von D Abandons Witchcraft After Finding God – ‘On Fire For Jesus’

The former tattoo artist and “L.A. Ink” star Kat Von D spent years practicing witchcraft, but she’s given that all up after finding God and becoming a devout Christian who is “on fire for Jesus.”

Von D’s Journey To God

Von D, 41, opened up about her journey to finding God during a recent appearance on the “Relatable with Allie Beth Stuckey” podcast. She explained that when she was in her 20s, sh had a “free-thinking mentality to question everything, especially authority.”

It was this mentality that unfortunately led her to practicing witchcraft, something that she regrets to this day.

“I was just searching for answers and meaning in so many of the wrong places, like most people do,” Von D said, adding that she was also struggling with drugs and alcohol during this timeperiod.

Getting sober 17 years ago helped with some aspects of Von D’s life, but her non-Christian spirituality was still harming her in a way that she now compares to “short-lived band-aids on a sinking ship.”

Von D Ditches Witchcraft – Finds Jesus 

Finally, Von D came to the decision one fateful night to throw away all of her witchcraft books, which she described as “crutches.”

“I don’t want these crutches in my life anymore, and that’s what really I saw them as,” she recalled. “I just want Jesus, and it’s a very narrow road. I feel like all these other, these breathing techniques, or spell work, nature worship, all these things, they’re just crutches. They’re not really my answer.”

“And so for me, I would rather eliminate any distractions,” she continued. “And this is just what works for me.”

Just before the COVID-19 lockdowns, Von D was sent a sermon that she “loved” by a friend, feeling that it “answered a lot of questions” that she had about life. She’s been on a Christian journey ever since, and she’s found it to be extremely fulfilling.

“I’m on fire for Jesus. I don’t plan on this dimming out,” Von D said. “The more and more I learn, the more excited I get about things and the more at ease I am about what’s happening in this world and what’s happening in my marriage, in all of it.”

While she still has friends who practice witchcraft, Von D believes that they are “miserable,” something that she can see as someone who was once “one of them.”

“I would look around at my Christian friends, they’re not perfect by any means, but I want what you have. Like I love the light that you have,” she explained.

Von D Moves To Indiana – Gets Baptized

Von D recently moved to Indiana, where she was recently baptized after joining a Baptist Church, according to Fox News. After sharing video of her baptism to social media, Von D was shocked to be hit with backlash from both Christians and non-Christians.

“It went from, ‘Well, her hand wasn’t completely submerged in water, so this is fake, it doesn’t count…’ Other people were like, ‘She’s faking it, this is just for a PR stunt,’” she lamented. “I’m not an idiot. I knew that when I posted that video, people would have questions.”

Even so, Von D has no regrets about filming her baptism.

“There’s the symbolic gesture of baptism, but also a part for me is a bit of making amends with my followers because for so many years, I’ve been putting out a certain message that makes me sad I was ever even a part of,” she explained.  “To publicly proclaim this was me setting some things right. Just for me.”

“It has nothing to do with, my church isn’t involved in that thought process. It was important to me to share that,” she continued. “This is something I want to celebrate. I want to be open and honest about it.”

These days, Von D wants to help others find God, saying that she’s fallen in love with her Christian faith. We’re so glad that Von D was saved from practicing witchcraft by finding God, and her story is proof that you’re never too old to find your way back to the Lord!
