The pop star Pink, who has expressed radically liberal views in the past, has announced that she will be handing out 2,000 copies of books that she claims have been “banned” by some Florida schools during her upcoming concerts in the state.

Pink To Pass Out ‘Banned’ Books

The BBC reported that Pink has teamed up with Pen America, a campaign group that claims to defend authors’ freedom of expression. This group alleges that Florida has banned more books than any other state in the country, accounting “for more than 40% of all documented bans.”

“Books have held a special joy for me from the time I was a child, and that’s why I am unwilling to stand by and watch while books are banned by schools,” Pink said in a statement.

“It’s especially hateful to see authorities take aim at books about race and racism and against LGBTQ authors and those of color,” she continued. “We have made so many strides toward equality in this country and no one should want to see this progress reversed. This is why I am supporting PEN America in its work and why I agree with them: no more banned books.”

Pink doubled down on this in an Instagram Live video, saying, “As a mom of two young readers, I can’t imagine letting someone else decide what MY CHILDREN can and cannot read!”

Pink and her former professional motocross racer husband Corey Hart are parents to daughter Willow, 12, and son Jameson, 6.

Kasey Meehan, director of PEN America’s Freedom to Read Program, released a statement of her own expressing her excitement over what Pink is doing.

“We are thrilled to be working with Pink on this important cause,” she said. “Every child deserves access to literature that reflects their lives. Rampant censorship is depriving kids of the chance to see themselves in books and learn about the world and its history.”

People Magazine reported that Pink is set to perform in Miami, Florida tonight and in Sunrise, Florida on Wednesday night. At each of these shows, the first 1,000 fans who are interested in taking part will be given copies of books that are allegedly “banned” frequently in Florida.

The four books that Pink plans to give away at these particular concerts are: “The Family Book” by Todd Parr, “The Hill We Climb” by Amanda Gorman, “Beloved” by Toni Morrison and a book from “Girls Who Code,” by Resha Saujani.

Pink’s Liberal Meltdowns

Pink has long been one to express radically liberal views. Last year, she had a complete meltdown on social media over the overturn of Roe v. Wade.

“I think all of our nerves are collectively fried from so many years of racism, misogyny, homophobia, etc. +pandemics, mass shootings, wars and the total lunacy, hypocrisy, ignorance of the GOP-it’s all a bit much,” she wrote. “But we will stick together. Good will prevail over evil.”

Pink also instructed those who don’t agree with her political views to stop listening to her music.

“Let’s be clear: if you believe the government belongs in a woman’s uterus, a gay persons business or marriage, or that racism is okay- THEN PLEASE IN THE NAME OF YOUR LORD NEVER F—ING LISTEN TO MY MUSIC AGAIN,” she wrote. “AND ALSO F— RIGHT OFF. We good?”

In yet another post from this time period, Pink launched a racist attack on “old white men.”

“And to all of you sad, old white men asking me if I still make music,” she wrote. “I realize you’re out of touch- so ask your kids…. Oh wait- you can’t. They hate you.”

Pink Bashes Trump And His Supporters

Pink has also been outspoken about her hatred for Donald Trump and anyone who supports him, saying in a 2020 video that he “doesn’t govern, respect or represent half” of the country.

“How can anyone call themselves a patriot or an American if you re-elect a president that doesn’t govern, respect or represent half of our country?” she added. “That’s not America. That’s your America. That’s not America.”

Pink creates music that can appeal to the masses, so it’s sad that she’s so quick to alienate a huge portion of her audience with her unhinged and hateful liberal views. If she did a bit more research into the book “bans” happening at Florida schools, perhaps Pink would understand that they are only being put in place to protect children from highly inappropriate materials that are increasingly being pushed upon them in schools across the country.
